Joseph KNIBBS, 1836-1855 - Military serviceCreated 30th January, 2016 |
The above is extracted from documentation related to the 97th Foot
Soldiers, British Infantry, and shows that Joseph Knibbs, Service Number 3228, from Egham,
Surrey, died on 2nd February, 1855 on board Garuilza(?) which I presume
was a vessel used by the British in Crimea. He had served just 321
days in the army. A second, similar document states that he was killed in Crimea. |
