Albert John "Jack" KNIBBS, 1898-1937

Albert is the one on the left. He was born in Meriden, Birmingham, the son of Arthur Albert Knibbs and his wife Mary. He married Elsie May Wilson in 1926.

He was badly wounded in WWI and it's understood that he would have died on the battlefield if a German soldier hadn't carried him to the first aid tent.

He died of pneumonia at the young age of 39, just a month before his second son was born.
