Florence Norton (Oakeshott) Knibbs, 1895-1969

Florence was the daughter of Albert Cecil Oakeshott and his wife Selina ("Lena") Catherine Norton who were married at East London, Cape Province, South Africa on 25 Oct 1893. Albert was born in London, England, the son of Joseph and Amelia Oakeshott. Florence was born in East London, Cape Province, South Africa.
Florence was apparently, the very first woman to be licensed to drive a car in East London and is pictured here in the driving seat of what we presume was the family car at the time.
Unfortunately, we don't know the names of any other others in the photograph.
