1841-1908

Henry was born in Dallington, Northamptonshire, the oldest of three children born to a yeoman farmer name William Knibbs from Deddington, Oxfordshire, and his wife Mary.

Henry trained at the teacher training college at Cheltenham, and at the very young age of 21 years, he became headmaster of the village school at Banstead in Surrey.

He remained as headmaster there for 42 years. See my page dedicated to Henry of Banstead
