Howard Ernest ROBERTS  

1885-1961

Howard was the second son of Elijah ROBERTS and his wife Anne KNIBBS. 

Anne, or Annie KNIBBS was born in Clifton, Oxfordshire, England in 1852, the oldest child of James and Ellen KNIBBS who emigrated with their two daughters to live in Hartford, Connecticut, USA in the mid-1850's.

Annie married Elija ROBERTS in 1870, and Howard was the 4th of six children, three boys and three girls, born in Southington, Connecticut. He married Frances CARGILL from Norfolk, Connecticut and they had 5 children.

Howard was President of Roberts Lightning Protection Company for more than 40 years and was very active in the communities of Wolcott and Waterbury during the years he lived there.
