A wonderful photograph of Martha with her husband, Henry D Van Seggern, taken on their golden wedding anniversary in May, 1929.

Martha was born in 1860 in Wisconsin, USA, and was the 2nd to youngest child of Naomi KNIBBS from Deddington, Oxfordshire, England and her husband Charles B DAGGART from Scotland.

Martha's mother emigrated from England to America with her parents and her six siblings  in 1830 aboard a ship named "Meridian", arriving in New York on 11 June. 

Henry D Van SEGGERN was born in 1849, in Oldenburg, Germany, his family settling in New Denmark, Wisconsin in 1859.
