I understand from Walter's neice Barbara Stacey that Walter always attended the Sunday service at the little Chapel at Clifton and that he lived in Clifton all of his life.

Walter worked for Painters farm at Deddington.

We see Walter, Ruth and son Alfred, living at 1 Victoria Cottages, Banbury, Oxfordshire, at the time of the 1939 Register.

The Knibbs' long association with the village of Clifton ended with Walter's death in 1959. His grandson Colin Rapley was the last family member to have been born at Clifton. He moved with his parents to live at Witney at the end of 1945 when his father returned from war.

Colin tells me that Walter and his wife Ruth are both buried at the Deddington Churchyard.

Death of Mrs. Ruth Knibbs. —The death occurred suddenly on October 26th of Mrs Ruth Knibbs, aged 67. The funeral took place on Friday at Deddingtou Church when the mourners were the husband, Mr. A. G Knibbs (son), Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Rapley (son-in-law and daughter). Miss A. Knibbs (sister in-law), Mr. Gund and Mrs Knibbs. Mr. and Mrs. H. Knibbs, Mr. E. Stacey (brother-in-laws and sisters). Many other friends were present Church.


It is quite probably her buried at St Peter & St Paul's church Deddington, Oxfordshire, England, Plot 6S 12.
