Notes for Mary Maria WITHEY:

It is a conjecture that Mary Maria Withey is the name of Edwin's first wife. I suspect the transcriptions of the marriages for 1863 maybe mixed up. The 1871 census gives her as Mary M Tulk. Based quite simply on the fact that a Mary Maria Tulk died at about the right time and at the right place to have been Edwin's wife.
Tulk wasn't a common name so I am reasonably sure it's her. She died aged 32 years so approximateky the right age to have been his wife.
