Notes for Edith May KNIBBS:

Edith's grandfather, Henry Theodore Knibbs isn't strictly a member of the Knibbs family. His parents were John and Ann BURT so his real name is Henry Theodore BURT. Henry's mother was widowed and then married Francis Knibbs (1793-1856).
Henry married as Henry Theodore BURT but at a later date, he assumed the surname KNIBBS.

Between 1953-1958, we see Edith living with her brother, Walter S Knibbs at 127 Higham Road, Tottenham, Middlesex. Her daughter Mavis was also living with them.

I understand that Edith was killed in Spain in 1983. Edith and her daughter Mavis were found suffocated by Edith's husband.

From ABC SEVILLA (Sevilla), 5 July 1983:
Malaga: Two English women found dead in strange circumstances.
Two English ladieses, mother and daughter, have been found dead in strange circumstances on the floor where they spent long-term seasons, in the Pueblo Nuevo urbanization of Algarrobo Costa, near the town of Torre del Mar (Malaga), info-form Efe This is Edith May Trueman, age 70, and Mavis Yvone Fitzgerald, age 45. Both were found dead by the husband and father of the victims. The wife, who had apparently died of suffocation, had her head wrapped in a plastic bag partially used as a gag. His daughter had also been suffocated, apparently, with a pillow. According to the chief commissioner of Velez-Malaga, there is still no true knowledge of what may have happened, but he has been intensively investigating to clarify the facts, which, for the moment, are "sub judice". The urbanization where the double death occurred is inhabited almost exclusively by foreigners, Germans in eighty or ninety percent, and the rest English.

Regardless of the newspaper article, the belief within the family is that Mavis died from a barbiturate overdose.
