Notes for Walter KNIBBS:

We see Walter in 1881, living at 38 Mary St., London, Middlesex, England with his wife and three of his brothers:
Harry Knibbs Head Mar 27 Beer & Wine Seller St Georges E Middlesex EnglandBeer & Wine Seller
Walter Knibbs Brother UnM 25 Clerk St Georges E Middlesex
Eliza Knibbs Wife Mar 25 St Georges E Middlesex
Edwin Knibbs Brother UnM 21 Brass Finisher St Georges E Middlesex
Alfred Knibbs Brother UnM 19 Wheelwright St Georges E Middlesex

When their son Walter was born in 1881, Walter and Eliza were living at 36 Storthport Street, Hoxton,London.

Walter can be seen in the 1891 census living at the Royal Standard, 15 Little Guildford Street, Holborn, St George in the East, London, Middlesex:
Walter Knibbs UnM 36 Beer House Keeper Middlesex
Henry Knibbs Head 37 Inn House Manager Middlesex
Rosina Knibbs Wife 32 Peckham London
Rose Knibbs Dau 4 London ???
Louisa A Overton Neice 15 London Clerkenwell
Edwin Knibbs Nephew 6 London St Pancras

So presumable, Walter was living with his brother Henry and they were at the Royal Standard which was probably an Ale House. It my have been that Henry was the manager, and Walter was the Bar Keeper?

Walter's wife Lizzie was living at the home of Walter's father, Henry Theodore Knibbs in the Prince of Wales Beerhouse, 9 Little Coram Street, St George, London, Middlesex:
Henry Knibbs Head Widr 63 Beerseller Somersetshire
Sydney Knibbs Son M 26 Manager St George's East
Alice Knibbs Wife M 26 Middlesex
Alice Knibbs Dau 2 Bloomsbury, London
Grace Knibbs Dau 8 Bloomsbury, London
Lizzie Knibbs Wife M 56 Middlesex
Walter Knibbs Son 9 Middlesex
Alice M Dau 6 Bloomsbury, London
Eleanor Knibbs Dau 5 Bloomsbury, London
Frank G Knibbs Son 2 Bloomsbury, London
Herbert Knibbs Son 20 Homerton

Lizzie's age has been transcribed incorrectly as she would have been 36 and not 56.

The daughter Eleanor is a bit of a ystery as this is the only place I see reference to her. I've seen no sign of a birth or death in GRO records, and no sign of her in 1911.

In 1893, when their son Alfred was born, Walter and Eliza were living at 9 Little Corcus Street, Camden, St Pancras, London.

In 1901 Walter can be seen at 48 North Street, Islington, London, Middlesex:
Walter Knibbs Head 46 Manager Coal Merchants London Stepney Green
Lizzie Knibbs Wife 46 London Bethnal Green
Walter Knibbs Son 19 Collar Cutter Gentlemens London Hoxton
Alice Knibbs Dau 16 London Bloomsbury
Frank Knibbs Son 12 London Bloomsbury
Jessie Knibbs Dau 9 London Bloomsbury
Alfred Knibbs Son 7 London Bloomsbury
Thomas C Knibbs Son 3 London Islington

We see Walter with four of his children in 1911, living at 496 Caledonian Road, Islington, London:
Walter Knibbs Head Wid 56 Foreman Cork Works London, Commercial Road
Walter Knibbs Son 29 Collar Cutter Linen London, Hoxton Road
Frank George Knibbs Son 22 Chauffeur London, Bloomsbury
Jessie Knibbs Daughter 19 No Occupation London
Alfred Knibbs Son 17 No Occupation London, Bloomsbury

I can't be sure, but there was a Thomas Charles Knibbs, aged 13, living as a boarder at Hillcroft School, Mortimer, Berkshire at the time of the 1911 census, so I wonder if it was Walter's son.
