From the Birmingham Daily Gazette - 24 June 1937:
The Clubman's Diary.
by SIR WALTER LUDLOW.
Slight misadventures and humorous oversights are invariably associated with wedding days, usually because of the mental strain of the bridegroom on the most important day of his life.
My colleague, Mr. Reginald Claud Horton-Jones, who was married in Swansea on Tuesday, had safely ensconced himself with his bride in the railway carriage and he had almost reached London before he discovered that he had left all the keys of the travelling things at home! However, just as love laughs at larksmiths, so is a journalist equal to most emergencies, and he picked the locks with the skill of a cracksman. During the wedding ceremony Mr. Kenneth Bolton, another colleague, who acted as groomsman, had to produce his rugger prowess in grappling with a big collie dog which had invaded the sanctity of the church and threatened to disturb the choral harmony.

Reginald was the son of Lily Matilda Horton (her maiden name). His birth was registered at Reginald Claud Horton, so I'm unsure as to how the Horton-Jones came about.

From the Birmingham Daily Gazette - 22 October 1936:
ACCIDENT AFTER 300-MILE JOURNEY
Careless Motorist Fined
An accident in Bradford-street. Birmingham, on 4 September had a sequel at Birmingham Police Court yesterday, when Reginald Claud Horton-Jones, of South Yardley, was fined for driving without due care and attention, for failing to stop after an accident, and ordered to pay 11s. costs. The licence was endorsed.
Mr. M. P. Pugh (prosecuting) said the accident occurred at 11 p.m.
A tramcar stopped near Alcester-street and the conductor put out his arm whilst a passenger got off. Defendant's car came along at a somewhat fast rate, knocked down the passenger and injured him so that he had to receive hospital treatment over a period of a fortnight.
Defendant braked but did not stop. and another motorist went after him. He was unable to stop him, but took his number.
When asked if he had been Involved in the accident defendant said: "I think I have been. I thought it was a lamp-post."
Mr. Norman Duffell, for defendant. pleaded guilty and expressed extreme regret.
Defendant had been to Swansea, leaving about 8-o'clock in the morning and arriving just after I o'clock. He started back at 6 o'clock and did not stop on the way.
It was therefore at the end of a 300-mile Journey when the accident happened.
He was tired out and did not realise that any human being had been involved in an accident or he would certainly have stopped. He thought ho had merely grazed a lamp-post.
He had been driving for 11 years without an accident or complaint, and would never again attempt to do 300 miles in a day.
