Father of Brian Knibbs and his wife Connie of Wilmington, Keith Knibbs of Boston, Julie Bower and her husband Robert of New Bern, NC. Brother of Richard Knibbs and his wife Jean and the late Robert Knibbs. Grandfather of Anne Marie and Christopher Bower, Madison Knibbs and Tiffany Knibbs. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours for Russ will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) SOMERVILLE, Sunday afternoon January 17, 2016 from 1-4. Relatives and friends invited. Late Veteran US Navy, Korea. G. Russell “Russ” Knibbs--81, A resident of Weymouth, formerly of Somerville where he was raised, and Belmont died after a long illness on January 11, 2016.
Russ was the beloved husband of Jean M. (Kiernan) Knibbs and the father of Brian Knibbs and his wife Connie of Wilmington, Keith Knibbs of Boston, Julie Bower and her husband Robert of New Bern, NC. He was the brother of Richard Knibbs and his wife Jean and the late Robert Knibbs. He was the grandfather of Anne Marie and Christopher Bower, Madison Knibbs and Tiffany Knibbs and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours for Russ will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) in Somerville on Sunday afternoon, January 17, 2016, from 1-4 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited.
Russ was a veteran of the US Navy, Korea.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Russ's memory to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of your choice.
