Mrs. William E. Belknap.
Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Belknap, of 127 West Eleventh street, Elmira heights, died Saturday at 2 p.m. in a hospital in this city after several weeks illness. The decedent was fifty-four years old and with her family resided several years on the southside in the city before they moved to Elmira Heights. She was a woman of great activity and was a loyal worker and true to her family and friends, who were many. Mrs. Belknap was a charter member of Elmira Rebekah Lodge, I.O.O.F. and was an official in that society for several years. It was recently that she had resumed her activities in the lodge work, which was a source of joy to her co-workers. She also was a member of the Oakwood Avenue Methodist church of Elmira Heights. The decedent is survived by her husband, William E. Belknap, who is a foreman at the American Bridge company's plant at Elmira heights: three daughters, Mrs. T. Frank Reynolds, of Toronto, Ont., Mrs. Warren D. Schull, of Elmira Heights, and Miss Alice Belknap at home: four sons. William E, Jr., of Chester, Mass., Cornelius, of Elmira, Joseph Howard, of Tioga, Pa., and Harrison I., of Akron, Ohio. The remains were placed in the Harrington fineral chapel, and will be removed to the family home this evening. The funeral will be held Tuesday, with a prayer service at the home at 2 p.m. and a funeral in the Oakwood Avenue church at 2:30. Burial in Woodlawn cemetery, where the committal service will be conducted by Elmira Rebekah Lodge.
The members of Elmira Rebekah Lodge, I.O.O.F., will hold a special meeting at the Odd Fellows club rooms on South Main street, Sunday evening at 6 o'clock, to arrange for their attendance at the funeral of Mrs. Belknap, Tuesday afternoon.
