Violet's parents were George William Crowsley and his wife Edith Jane Thompson. They married on 2 August 1897 at St Cuthbert's, Bedford. George died towards the end of WWI. He was a Sapper in the Royal Engineers. I believe much of his service time was spent supporting the Inland Water Transport and Docks of the UK.

As well as Violet, there was a son named Ronald C Crowsley born q3/1911.
