We know from the ship's manifest in 1894 that James had a wife, and that she was born in Scotland before becoming an American citizen. The 1900 census indicates she immigrated into the US in 1883.

It may well be Georgiana boarding at 7 Seagrave Street, Liverpool in 1881:
Annie LIPUER Head U Female 28 B.N.S. , Russia None
Georgina CUMMING Serv U Female 17 Scotland None
Polly READE Boarder U Female 17 York, England None

Ellen O'ROURKE Boarder U Female 18 Ireland None
Elizabeth J. JAMES Boarder U Female 18 Ireland None

It's interesting that none of those boarding at the above had jobs so was it perhaps a guest house that they stayed in prior to embarking on their voyage to the US?
__________

The 1900 census shows that Georgiana had two children, both of whom survived.

__________

James is seen arriving in New York from Liverpool aboard the ship Lusitania (above) on 8 October, 1914, aged 23 years. The ships manifest gives his place and date of birth as Waterbury, New Haven, Connecticut, 18 Oct 1891. His address is given as 23 Newell Place, Waterbury, CT. He is given as unmarried and appeared to be traveling alone.

How thankful he must have been that he traveled when he did. The Lusitania sank on 7th May 1915, just 7 months after his trip home from the UK aboard her.

Whilst we have his name as Jack from an earlier sailing in 1894 with his parents, this time he is listed as James, but I'm sure Jack and James are the same person.
