Filling Silos.
Ben Knibbs of the West District is to be given credit for being the first man in the town of Farmington to fill his silo. The job was done last week. All of the farmers have been busy at this work this week, and the growth of corn the past season has been a big one, and that insures plenty of feed for the cows the coming winter.

Ben Knibbs of the West Distrtict who had the misfortune to receive a broken shoulder while he was engaged in working on a house in West Hartford for Henry Wilcox. The contractor is able to be out of the Hartford hospital where he was taken for treatment.

Barn Burned
Benjamin Knibbs resident of West District was awakened Thursday morning at 1 o'clock by the barking of his dog. He arose and found that his barn and silo adjoining were in flames, Neighbours were summoned and all was done that was possible but the buildings were burned, also six cows, four calves, one horse, the carriage and a variety of implements. The loss will be party met by insurance. Mr. Knibbs has the sympaty of all in Unionville and Farmington in his great loss.

I suspect that the following aticle from the Hartford Courant, 21 Apr 1916, refers to Benjamin:
B. F. Knibbs of the West District is building a barn to replace the one destroyed by fire last winter. It is to be built of brick manufactured by the Composite Brick Company of this lown. This is the first building about here to be made of this brick.

BENJAMIN R. KNIBBS
The funeral of Benjamin Ralph Knibbs of this place who died in Hartford Tuesday morning following a long illness was held from his late home this afternoon. Burial was in Greenwoods cemetery.. Mr. Knibbs was born here on April 11,1860, the son of James and Ellen Collins-Knibbs. On April 26, 1898 he married Miss Emma Adams who passed away seven years ago. Mr. Knibbs is survived by two brothers, Joseph W. and John E. Knibbs, and several nieces and nephews. For more, than half a century Mr. Knibbs followed the mason and plasterers trade, retiring in 1928 due to ill health.
