While son Billy constructs his own motors, Tom Jr. is busy building modifieds with the help of Billy Lepper, Smitty, Pat Bozzulo, Paul Marci, his brother Barry and his father, Tom Sr.
Tom Sr.'s son Bill maintains that his Dad is the key to his new profession saying "His faith and financial backing have long been a source of support and encouragement to the whole #98 crew."
Tommy Jr. deserves most credit for any good showings. Billy also said that "if it weren't for Tommy's efforts and determination the car never would make it to the track."

Thomas F. Knight, 76, formerly of Unionville, husband of Eleanor Knight, died peacefully Sunday, (March 10, 2002) at the Sterling House in Deland, FL, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lowell, MA, December 13, 1925, son of the late Thomas F. and Isabelle (Dunlavey) Knight. Prior to retiring, Tom was the owner and operator of Knight Building Supply in Plainville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a longtime devoted member of the K of C Uncas Council #32 where he served as past Grand Knight and was a Fourth Degree member. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and was a member of Chippanee Golf Club in Bristol and Southridge Golf Club in Deland, FL. He was an auto enthusiast and was the former owner of Knight Racing Team. Besides his wife, he is survived by his four loving children, Linda K. Smith of Unionville, Thomas F. Knight, III of Jacksonville, FL, William M. and Joanne M. Knight of Unionville, and Barry E. Knight of Unionville; his former wife, Emily Knibbs Knight of Deland, FL; his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Elsie Knight of Westford, MA; nine beloved grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Gerald Knight. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 23
