Notes for Anna Elizabeth GLENN:

Anna was the daughter of Robert James Glenn.

Extracted from the History of Grundy County, Illinois - 1914:

Glenn, Robert James - No man who owns Grundy County property need fear the future for he has that which will always give him a fair income, and will increase in value with each succeeding year. One of the farmers of Grundy County who has attained to more than ordinary success along agricultural lines is Robert James Glenn, owner of eighty acres of land in Vienna Township. He was born on his present property in 1875, a son of Robert and Catherine (Thomas) Glenn, the former born in Ireland, and the latter in Wales. When he attained his majority, Robert Glenn came to Grundy County, and farmed until he retired to Verona, where he now resides. He and his wife had three children:
Mary Tellingham, Anna Knibbs and Robert James.

Robert James was brought up on his present farm and sent to the district schools. He not only operated his own farm, but 292 acres belonging to his father, and specializes on hog raising upon an extensive scale. In addition to raising hogs, he buys in large quantities and is a heavy shipper to the market. In 1895, Mr. Glenn was married to Sadie Dix of Grundy County, and they have had six children: Robert, Melvin, Catherine, Lloyd, Erwin and an unnamed infant who with Catherine is deceased.

Mr. Glenn is a Mason, belonging to the Verona lodge of that order. He is very liberal in politics, believing that it is preferable to vote for the man rather than to be bound by party ties. Owing to his large agricultural interests, Mr. Glenn has not had the time or desire to go into public life, but if he did there is no doubt but that he would give to official matters the same conscientious attention that he does to his private affairs.

I note that Robert Glenn (1835-1918), his wife Catherine (1845-1938), their son Robert J (1875-1958) are buried at Ward Cemetery, Grundy County, Illinois. I see from these records that their son Robert J Glenn married Sadie E Dix.

Based on the information from the History of Grundy County, that they had three children, I can only assume that the youngest child Rosa didn't survive.

Anna's surname of Glenn was carried forward into the Knibbs family and became the Christian name of her grandson Glenn Ellsworth Knibbs. Glenn informed me that he and his brother Loren Knibbs owned part of the Glenn farm up until 1995.
