From the Baldwinsville Messenger, N.Y., 10 Sept 1986:
For the past four weeks, a 400' x 500' parcel of land in Baldwinsville has been .the site of an_archaeological dig by Pratt & Pratt Archaelogical Consultants, Inc., of Syracuse. The firm was hired by Consolidated Gas Transmission Corp. which applied last winter to construct a natural gas . pipeline through parts of VanBuren, Lysander and other towns in Central New York.
According to Archaeologist Marjorie Pratt who coordinated the dig, the results of the study completed earlier this week, will determine the. "importance" of the site, which rests along the proposed pipeline route, and whether it qualifies for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
Pratt said she is "quite certain" that evidence uncovered by her teams of college students, archaeologists and Manpower workers is significant enough to warrant a further search for artifacts and historical data.
